Build out of stock Product from in stock Parts

Assemble an out-of-stock product from in-stock parts, then return the finished units to the shelf.

Script Overview

This workstation builds an out-of-stock product from in-stock parts, or disassembles an in-stock product when a part has been requested. The requested count and the current step are stored on pd_build_goal. Quantities pulled off the shelf sit on pd_build_table until they are completed and written back to oc_product. A partial shelf count stays on the queue until the remaining picked count is zero.

Operator Workflow

Step 1

Choose the Product

Pick a row and choose Build Product or Disassemble Product.
Enter how many units you want, then continue.

Step 2

Gather

Bring the parts, or the products, to the table.
Choose Parts Gathered. Those quantities leave inventory and sit on the Build Table.

Step 3

Record the Work

Enter how many units you finished, then choose Update.
Choose Products Built or Products Disassembled when the whole count is done.

Step 4

Put Pieces on the Shelf

Enter the count you put on the shelf. A partial count stays on the Build Table.
Choose Products on shelf. The queue row and the goal clear only when nothing remains.

Technical Reference & Safeguards

Data Read: pd_build_goal, pd_build_table, and oc_product, plus English names from oc_product_description with language_id = 1. Parts come from pd_product_parts_required. Demand comes from oc_preorder_subscribers and oc_order / oc_order_product.
Database Writes: pd_build_goal count and step, pd_build_table.picked, oc_product.quantity, oc_product.location, and the quantity log.
Safeguards & Notifications: Each product's inventory change, build-table change, and quantity log commit together or roll back together. Step 4 subtracts the shelved count from picked. The queue row and the goal are deleted only when that remainder is 0.
