Assign Product to Categories

Map a standalone product (or resolve one by model / product ID) onto OpenCart 3 category taxonomy nodes. Search categories by name fragment, then toggle assignment checkboxes and save. A separate rename tool rewrites inconsistent category labels (for example cleaning typo variants) while preserving language_id = 1 description rows.

• Search — loads matching oc_category_description rows and shows breadcrumb paths with current assignment state.
• Assign Product to Categories — inserts or deletes oc_product_to_category links from the checkbox state.
• Performance — product category links are loaded once into $assignedCategoryMap; the checkbox loop uses in-memory isset() lookups (no N+1 SQL).
• Pagination — category checkboxes render in server-side pages of 250 (cat_page) so large taxonomies do not freeze the browser.
• Live filter — typing in Category Search instantly hides/shows rows on the current page via client-side JS (no reload); use Search to re-query the full taxonomy server-side.
• Rename — preview or apply string replacements across category names for catalog consistency.
