Clean Newsletter Subscribers

Upload a Shipping Easy contact export and update the newsletter list.

Script Overview

This screen applies a Shipping Easy contact export to the newsletter email list. The upload is saved as contacts.csv. Blank second-column values are skipped, and the result count includes every non-empty address processed, including non-standard strings already stored on the list. Remove Names deletes those addresses. The click, open, and unopened actions set flags on matching rows. Delivered marks the uploaded addresses delivered, then removes every subscriber still marked undelivered. The file read and the database writes for that action commit together or roll back together.

Operator Workflow
Step 1
Download the List
  • Download the contact export from Shipping Easy.
  • Keep the file as a CSV. The address must stay in the second column.
Step 2
Choose the File
  • Select the CSV with the file picker on this page.
  • The first row is the heading and is not counted.
Step 3
Run One Action
  • Remove Names deletes the uploaded addresses from the list.
  • Clicked, Opened, and Unopened set those flags. Delivered marks the file delivered and then removes subscribers still marked undelivered.
Step 4
Read the Count
  • The green message counts every non-empty address from the second column.
  • A red message means the list was not changed. Close this window when finished.
Technical Reference & Safeguards
  • Data Read: Shipping Easy CSV saved as contacts.csv. Header row skipped. Email is column 2.
  • Database Writes: pd_email_list.email deletes, or clicked, opened, and delivered flag updates. Delivered then deletes delivered = N.
  • Safeguards & Notifications: Addresses are bound parameters. The CSV read and writes commit in one transaction, with rollback and error_log on failure. Blank rows are ignored. Addresses are trimmed and are not dropped for non-standard formatting.
